"Being able to work closely together to shape custom solutions designed for our co-location infrastructure has been a great experience for us.”
— Wolfgang Eholzer, Head of Trading IT of Deutsche Börse and CTO of Eurex Frankfurt AG, a leading European derivatives exchange, which is part of Deutsche Börse Group
Deutsche Börse AG and Corning Incorporated collaborated on the development of new fiber optic cabling components, that was announced to clients on 26 September. The new cabling innovation, part of Corning’s multi-award-winning EDGE™ solution portfolio, will enable Deutsche Börse to provide all colocation users with on-site-equivalent network access, helping the exchange maintain a consistent high-normalization level. The new components further improve Deutsche Börse’s services for all its high-frequency trading clients.
The innovation is part of Corning’s EDGE™ solutions, the industry’s first preterminated optical cabling system specifically designed for the data center environment. The recent technology launch builds on the strong relationship between the two companies and their decade-long cooperation, with a focus on the EXACT solution, which caters specifically to the needs of high-frequency trading markets. Development efforts for the new product solution strengthened the collaboration between both companies and saw engineering and technical teams from both companies convene in Strykow (Poland) for a factory visit and workshop. The new implementation is a testament to both organizations’ commitment to innovation.
"We were excited to innovate with Deutsche Börse’s experts to create a targeted version of Corning’s EDGE solution for high-frequency trading. The new solution meets the specific technical and legal requirements of Deutsche Börse while providing customers with access to the network under equivalent conditions and enhancing network reliability.”
— Matthias Nitschke, Data Center Solutions Director at Corning Optical Communications
The new solution deployment marks an important milestone in the cooperation between Deutsche Börse and Corning, with a shared value system enhancing the collaboration between the companies and enabling the applied co-innovation approach.
