Senior Vice President & General Counsel
Michaune Tillman is a seasoned business executive with more than 25 years of domestic and international experience as an attorney and trusted advisor to companies. She is senior vice president and general counsel, leading the Law Department and serving as a key advisor and member of Corning’s Senior Leadership Team. She provides expert counsel to the Board of Directors and oversees a wide range of legal matters regarding Corning’s operations and strategic initiatives.
Tillman joined Corning in March 2024 from Worthington Steel, Inc., North America’s premier steel processor and a producer of market-leading building products. She served as the company’s general counsel and corporate secretary, responsible for structuring and negotiating agreements relating to mergers and acquisitions and other complex transactions. She also previously served as general counsel at Worthington Steel Processing and Worthington Armstrong Venture (WAVE). Across these roles, Tillman led corporate governance matters, litigation, commercial transactions, regulatory, antitrust, environmental health and safety, cyber security, data privacy, import/export, labor and employment, intellectual property, and compliance.
Prior to WAVE, Tillman served in executive leadership roles for 13 years at Ricoh Americas Corporation including deputy general counsel and as employment and commercial litigation counsel at IKON Office Solutions (acquired by Ricoh). Her initial law firm training was in the labor and employment group at Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell and Hippel.
Tillman is currently a board member for the National Association of Black Legal Assistants and Paralegals.
Tillman graduated with honors from Hampton University with a Bachelor of Science in accounting, and a Juris Doctorate from The University of Michigan Law School. She is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bars.
