Sudhir Pillai was appointed managing director, Corning India, in April 2020. Sudhir is responsible for the company’s growth and operations in India and neighboring countries. He also oversees Corning’s fiber manufacturing operations in Pune, India.

Sudhir joined Corning India in March 2019 as the commercial director for Corning Life Sciences (CLS). During that time, he also led sales operations for Corning Pharmaceutical Technologies (CPT). These businesses contributed significantly to Corning’s growth in the region.

With more than 20 years of experience, Sudhir has held positons in various industries and successfully led start-ups and mature businesses. He helped organizations grow by applying his finance, marketing, operations, and profit-center management skills.

Prior to joining Corning, Sudhir was the general manager and director of Honeywell Electrical Devices & Systems India Ltd. During his tenure at Honeywell, he also spearheaded a start-up program and successfully scaled the business to a multimillion business unit in a short period.

Sudhir holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics science and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pune.
