Gökhan Doran was appointed division vice president and general manager, Corning International, in June 2022. In this role, Doran is responsible for partnering with Corning’s Market-Access Platform teams to develop and deliver strategy for Corning businesses in geographies managed by Corning International. Doran has overall responsibility for growth, talent, governance, and compliance across Corning International entities. Doran began his career with Siemens Communication Cables in 1997, initially performing sales and marketing roles based in Istanbul and Munich.
Upon Corning’s acquisition of Siemens’ telecom interests in 1999, he assumed the position of sales manager for Turkey and the near east region for Corning Cable Systems, now Corning Optical Communications (COC). In 2002, he was named operations manager for the fiber optic cable plant in Gebze, Turkey, and two years later, he was named plant manager. In 2006, Doran was given extended responsibilities as country manager COC Turkey and managing director for the local legal entity, where he represented Corning Developments Incorporated on the board of directors. During his tenure with COC, business operations delivered significant growth in capacity while registering numerous LEAN and TPM certifications.
In 2015, Doran was appointed regional manager EMEA, Corning International, and was responsible for driving business operations, strategy, and business development for Corning International in the EMEA region, while providing coordination with business units and functions. He set tools to deliver revenue growth, supported new product launches, and expanded the geographic footprint in the region. In this capacity, he collaborated with EMEA leadership to deliver growth and address Corning’s regional interests. Doran earned a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from Istanbul University and holds a Master of Business Administration from University of Hartford, Connecticut. He is a certified Black Belt and received the Silver Award by the Chamber of Electrical Engineers in 2019.
