Meet Alexis. She’s shaping a brighter, clearer future by volunteering in her community.
As the Information Technology (IT) site leader for Corning’s Science and Technology organization, Alexis is responsible for building relationships between her IT team and the scientists and engineers within the organization who are working on the next generation of life-changing innovations.
“I accepted my current role because I wanted to learn more about how IT plays a role across the company and how we can continue to support different teams and projects,” says Alexis.
Alexis is proud to work at Corning because she says the company cares for its employees. Currently pursuing her professional doctorate in IT Management, Alexis can speak from experience, saying the company supported her decision to continue her education.
When she is not working or studying, Alexis finds time to give back to the local community in which she lives.
“We need to take care of our community,” says Alexis. “It’s amazing to work for a company like Corning that has the power to give back and encourages its employees to do so. If I can inspire young women to get involved, then it makes me feel like I’m doing a good job.”
We’re proud of our female scientists, engineers, and working professionals like Alexis and know they are shaping a brighter, clearer future.
