Quality
My journey at Corning started in 2013, two months after finishing college. My first role was as a process engineer at RCC Plant. I learned what it's like to be responsible for a complete process. I was also responsible for project implementation to increase capacity, reduce costs, and maintain safety in my area. As an engineer I had the opportunity to learn DMAIC Six Sigma methodology and project management to later be certified as a project management professional by the PMI Institute.
After three years, I was promoted to a role as a manufacturing strategist. In this role, I was responsible for coordinating and ensuring all activities in RCC Plant were aligned with the annual business strategy, working alongside the plant manager and other staff members. This position allowed me to develop knowledge in finance and operations strategies, and it helped prepare me for my next career opportunity at Corning. In 2017, I moved to quality as a supervisor. My activities now include stablizing, sustaining and improving quality systems to exceed customer expectations while watching over business financial results. I am responsible for a group of employees where I establish direction and help employees develop skills to achieve our department’s goals.
Working at Corning gives you the opportunity to build experiences to accelerate your professional development and growth.
