Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Edward Schlesinger was elected executive vice president and chief financial officer in February 2022. Schlesinger is the chief steward of Corning’s financial health, overseeing the Finance and Investor Relations functions.
From February 2019 to February 2022, Schlesinger was senior vice president and corporate controller, responsible for leading the Corporate Accounting, Compliance, and External Reporting functions; the corporate-wide reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and planning processes; M&A finance; Corporate Shared Services function; and Workplace Services. Schlesinger was elected vice president and corporate controller in September 2015 and principal accounting officer December 2015.
Previously, Schlesinger was senior vice president and chief financial officer of Corning Cable Systems (now Corning Optical Communications). In this role, he was responsible for leading the Finance function for Corning Optical Communications.
Prior to Corning, Schlesinger spent more than 20 years with American Standard and Ingersoll Rand, where he served in various finance leadership roles.
Schlesinger holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Montclair State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from St. John’s University. He is a certified public accountant. Schlesinger is on the board of directors of Hemlock Semiconductor Group and is a trustee of the Corning Museum of Glass.
