Glass Pipet Tube

Corning manufactures a wide variety of glass tube raw materials for individual pipets and/or fitted to pipettors. These specialty glass tubes can be manufactured in any borosilicate glass variants and custom designed to specification.

Dimensions of the tube glass raw material are critical to guarantee the measurement accuracy of the finished product, which is especially true for volumetric glassware. Standard glass tube pipet products include Pasteur, serologic and micro pipets.

Disposable Culture Tube

High Quality Disposable Test Tubes, often referred to as Disposable Culture Tubes or DCTs can be produced using any of the borosilicate glasses from Corning, but the most common formula for these applications is the standard pharmaceutical grade C51-V or C51-D glasses in clear. The diagnostic packaging marketplace uses several varieties of flat bottom or round bottom tubes in various sizes and in several materials. To ensure the most accurate results for any specimen study and to guarantee long term sample stability, Corning pharmaceutical C51 is often the glass of choice. This glass composition is designed for parenteral drug delivery systems and is compatible with the alternative use as Disposable Culture Tubes. For example, blood collection in this type of packaging is common and the Corning C51 glass can also be purchased with the addition of cerium for gamma sterilized applications.

Scintillation Vial Tube

For liquid scintillation counters to measure the radioactivity of a specimen, Corning offers scintillation vial tubing made from borosilicate glass.

Borosilicate glass features low interference background, making it well suited to analysis. A high chemical resistance to the harsh organic reagents makes it a good choice for sample preparation.

Corning C33 in 28 mm is a popular choice for this application.

Chromatography Vial Tube

Chromatography vials are used to transport samples to a gas or liquid chromatography instrument for analysis.

Borosilicate glass is preferred for its inertness and resistance to organic reagents for sample preparation.

Corning clear and amber borosilicate glass tubing converted to vials have raised the standard in the diagnostic industry, with proven consistent results critical to testing applications.

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy Glass Tube

NMR tubes are thin glass tube containers used in a liquid-state NMR spectrometer. NMR tubes are produced from Corning borosilicate glass, delivering the geometric integrity necessary to ensure sample tubes are straight and balanced with uniform thickness throughout.

Corning borosilicate glass tubes are made to ultra-precise dimensional specifications on a campaign basis. Contact us to learn more about manufacturing schedules or to inquire about a specific project.
